A Sunset, A Sunrise
After much thought and deliberation, I’ve decided to sunset this Medium blog.
Firstly, this doesn’t mean I’ll delete this blog. It will remain until Medium exists and allows me to host it at no cost. What it does mean is that I won’t be publishing any new content in it and I won’t be checking for contact/interactions very often at all.
There are many reasons why I decided to take this step. Without going into much detail in my experience, and my blog analytics Medium has turned into the place where good content goes to die. Whereas I used to get thousands, if not tens of thousands, of blog views per week, I now get a hundred, perhaps less — regardless of topic. Traffic and exposure were the main draws for me to keep my blog here. Absent of these, I decided to move on.

In addition to my blog, long overdue (for decades, really) was a personal/professional website. Further, I wanted to separate my blog from product reviews that I do from time to time. Bearing all these things in mind, I went ahead and created my new website https://rubeninwriting.com where I will hereafter maintain my blog, professional going-ons and product reviews mini site (that’s still in the works). If you are so inclined, please pay it a visit — though frankly there’s not much content there at the moment.
So, I guess this is it, then, huh? 🙋♂️
